Boise State Game Notes

THE GAME: Boise State seeks sole possession of first place in the Mountain West Saturday, when it hosts Utah State, at 6 p.m. MT. The Broncos (14-7, 7-3 MW) are tied atop the standings with Nevada, who is idle this weekend. The Aggies (10-11, 4-6) are fresh off a win against the Wolf Pack.

ABOUT UTAH STATE: The Aggies snapped a four-game losing streak with a win against Fresno State, and followed it up with a 74-57 victory against Nevada, Wednesday. Jalen Moore (16.7 ppg) and Koby McEwen (15.5 ppg) lead Utah State’s scoring attack.
All-Time Series: Utah State leads 30-13. The Broncos won the first meeting this season, 83-80 in Logan.

GOOD GUARD PLAY: A change to the starting lineup jolted Boise State’s backcourt to life the past two games. James Reid moved into the starting lineup for Paris Austin, and both players responded. The duo combined for 74 points in crucial road wins at Wyoming (Jan. 28) and Colorado State (Jan. 31).

ROAD WINS: Boise State is one of 18 teams in the country with at least five conference road wins this season. The Broncos are 5-1 away from home in league play. It is the second most conference road wins in program history. Boise State has won six such games five times, most recently in 2014-15.

SIMPLE RECIPE: In their seven Mountain West wins, the Broncos are shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from three-point range; compared to 36.5 and 29.5, respectively, in their three losses.

MONTH OF THE BRONCO: Boise State begins the month of February tied for the Mountain West lead. During Leon Rice's tenure, the Broncos are 27-17 all-time in the calendar's second month.
