Boise State Game Notes

THE GAME: Boise State (11-6, 4-2 MW) heads to San José State (9-8, 2-4 MW) for a Saturday afternoon showdown. The Broncos and Spartans will tip off at 2 p.m. PT/3 p.m. MT and the game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network.

ABOUT SAN JOSÉ STATE: The Spartans are led by sophomore forward Brandon Clarke, the reigning MW Player of the Week. Clark averages 22.8 points per game in conference play.
All-Time Series: Boise State leads 28-3. The teams split last season’s series, each winning at home.

BRONCO BOUNCE BACK: Boise State’s current two-game slide marks just the 18th time in Leon Rice’s tenure the Broncos have had two or more consecutive losses. Only six times has the skid reached three games. The last instance was a four-game losing streak in 2014-15, followed immediately by winning 15 of 16 games and the MW regular-season title.

REID HEATING UP: James Reid has led Boise State in scoring each of the last three games, coming off the bench in each. Reid has scored at least 16 points in all three games, with 10 three-pointers.

Boise State Falls to San Jose State 68-63
Brandon Clarke had 21 points and 10 rebounds on Saturday and San Jose State snapped a six-game losing streak to close the regular season with a 68-63 win over Boise State. Princeton Onwas and Gary Williams Jr. added 14 points each for the Spartans (9-21, 4-14), who will have the No. 11 seed in the Mountain West Conference tournament that starts Wednesday. San Jose State took the lead for good during the early part of a 13-2 run that ended at 60-51 with 6:01 left. Boise State (20-11, 11-7) closed within 66-63 with 1:21 left but went scoreless from there.
