Boise State Game Notes

THE GAME: Boise State (11-4, 4-0 MW) takes its seven-game win streak on the road Saturday, at Fresno State (10-7, 2-3 MW). The game will tip off at 4 p.m. PT/5 p.m. MT, and will be streamed on the Mountain West Network.

ABOUT FRESNO STATE: The Bulldogs are have lost their last two outings, but are 2-0 at home in Mountain West play. Fresno State has five players scoring in double figures, led by Paul Watson’s 14.0. All-Time Series: Boise State leads 21-17. The last time the Broncos won in Fresno was 2013 (0-2 since).

BEEN A WHILE: Boise State has lost its last two trips to Fresno State, and did not play at the Bulldogs last season. No current Bronco student-athlete has won in Fresno and it is the only Mountain West venue Nick Duncan has not won at.

ANYONE, ANYWHERE: Nick Duncan has won at every Mountain West venue, except Fresno State. Duncan is vying to become the 11th player in Boise State history to win a conference road game at every league venue during his career. John Coker (1992-95) was the last to accomplish the feat, which has not been done since Boise State was in the Big Sky. Duncan would be the sixth four-year Bronco to accomplish the feat.

SEVEN STRAIGHT: Boise State is riding a seven-game win streak, the seventh win streak of at least seven games in Leon Rice’s tenure. The Broncos have won at least eight in a row eight times in school history, four coming under Rice.

STREAKING: Boise State has won seven consecutive games overall and 11 straight at home (including a 7-0 mark this season). The seven-game win streak is tied for the 10th-longest active streak in the nation. The 11-straight home wins is tied for the 24th-longest active streak in the country.

STARTING 4-0: Boise State is 4-0 to start conference play for the second straight year and fifth time in program history. It is the third time the Broncos have started league play 4-0 under Leon Rice The only time the Broncos have gone to 5-0 in conference play was 1987-88, en route to a 7-0 start in Big Sky play.

BENCH PRODUCTION: Boise State’s bench is averaging 23.2 points per game, including four games with more than 30 points coming from reserves. The Broncos have been led in scoring by a bench player in two games, including Zach Haney and James Reid scoring 19 points apiece off the bench in the Jan. 7 win against San Diego State.

James Webb III scored 25 points and pulled down nine rebounds as Boise State continued its torrid shooting early, then hung on to beat Fresno State 81-70 on Saturday afternoon.
