Broncos Streak Ends Over Hawaii, Falling 68-76

HONOLULU, Hawai’iLa'Shard Anderson led four Broncos in double-digits with 18 points, but it wasn’t enough for Boise State as they fell to Hawai’I, 68-76, Monday.

Anderson not only led the Broncos offensively, but did his part on defense as well as he registered five steals, five rebounds and dished out four assists. Daequon Montreal had his second-consecutive game in double-figures as he added 16 points, while Anthony Thomas registered 13 and Ike Okoye tallied 10 points to the Boise State total.

Leading all scorers was Roderick Flemings of Hawai’i with 20 points, while UH’s Petras Balocka and Paul Campbell were the game’s leading rebounders with nine boards apiece. Like Boise State, four Warriors registered in double-digits as Hiram Thompson added 15, Campbell registered 14 and Adhar Mayen had 13.

Boise State shot 41.9 percent from the field, compared to 45.6 percent by Hawai’I, in addition to being outrebounded 32 to 36.

The Broncos now return home to play host to their first conference opponent for the 2009-10 season as they face New Mexico State, Saturday, Jan. 9 at 7:05 p.m.
