THE GAME: Boise State (10-4, 1-0 MW) goes on the road for the first time in a month Tuesday, at Utah State (9-4, 1-1 MW). Tipoff is at 8 p.m. MT from Logan, Utah. The Broncos are riding a seven-game win streak and are coming off an unblemished six-game home stand.

ABOUT UTAH STATE: The Aggies have opened MW play with a road win and a home loss, defeating San José State before falling to San Diego State. Jalen Moore’s 14.6 points per game lead Utah State.
All-Time Series: Utah State leads 30-10. MW Games: Tied 2-2.

PLAYING IN LOGAN: Boise State earned its first all-time road win against Utah State last season. The Broncos won 68-63 and are now 1-18 in road games against the Aggies in a series that dates to 1974.

LAST TIME: Boise State opened defense of its Mountain West title Saturday, with an 84-80 win against Colorado State. James Webb III (28), Anthony Drmic (21) and Mikey Thompson (18) combined for 67 points as the Broncos held off a second-half rally by the Rams.

STARTING STRONG: Boise State is seeking its first 2-0 start to league play since joining the Mountain West. The Broncos started 2-0 in the Western Athletic Conference during Leon Rice’s first season (2010-11).

MW POW x 2: James Webb III has twice been named Mountain West Player of the Week this season. Webb earned the award for the weeks ending Dec. 20 and Jan. 3. He technically earned two honors in three weeks, but the Broncos did not play during the week between his awards, giving him each of the last two MW POW honors he has been eligible to receive. Webb has been named the conference player of the week three times in his career. His latest award came after averaging 25.5 points and nine rebounds in Boise State’s wins against UC Davis (Dec. 30) and Colorado State (Jan. 2). Webb scored 28 against the Rams to help the Broncos start MW play with a win.

OFFERING ASSISTANCE: Mikey Thompson is averaging 4.6 assists per game. Thompson has six games this season with at least five assists, matching his total from his first three seasons combined.

HIGHLY EFFICIENT: Mikey Thompson recorded a career-high nine assists against Colorado State (Jan. 2), without committing a turnover. It is the most assists by a Bronco without a turnover since Wes Perryman also had nine Dec. 31, 2011, vs Idaho.

BETTER WITH HIM: In 12 games against Division I opponents this season, the Broncos have outscored opponents by a total of 31 points. With Nick Duncan on the floor, Boise State has a 45-point edge. Duncan has logged 391 minutes, in those minutes the Broncos are scoring 78.3 points per 40. Without Duncan in the lineup, Boise State averages 62.9 points per 40 minutes.
