LOGAN, Utah (AP) Boise State (20-5, 10-3) held a seven-point lead at the half, but Utah State (14-12, 7-6) rallied back in the second to claim the 71-65 victory. The loss breaks up a four-game winning streak for the Broncos. Boise State has enjoyed five different winning streaks of three or more games so far this season.

The Broncos are now a half-game back of conference leader Nevada (10-2), which beat San Diego State by 25 points Saturday night.

Chandler Hutchison scored 28 points – his 14th 20-point game of the season and his sixth scoring 25 or more. He went 11 of 17 from the field and grabbed six rebounds.

Chris Sengfelder and Lexus Williams both scored 12 points apiece. Sengfelder was just shy of a double-double with a team-high nine rebounds. Alex Hobbs chipped in a team-high six assists.

Utah State’s Koby McEwen made five 3-pointers and finished 9 of 14 from the field. Diogo Brito added 16 points, Sam Merrill had 12 points and Dwayne Brown Jr. 10.

Hutchison scored the Broncos' last 10 points to pull them to 68-65 with 18 seconds left. Brown split a pair of free throws then Hutchison missed a 3 with six seconds left. Brito ended the game with two free throws.

The loss also breaks up a six-game winning streak for the Broncos against the Aggies. In the 10 meetings that Utah State and Boise State have played each other as members of the Mountain West, nine of the 10 games have been decided by six or less points.

Boise State will now prepare for a colossal home matchup against Nevada (21-5, 10-2) for first place in the conference standings. A win would put the Broncos a half-game ahead of the Wolf Pack.
