Broncos Fall at Colorado State
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A short-handed Boise State men’s basketball team fell 77-57 to Colorado State Wednesday, at Moby Arena.

Already playing without Jeff Elorriaga, the nation’s fourth-ranked 3-point shooter, the Broncos (14-6, 2-4 MW) also played without leading scorer Derrick Marks for a majority of the game.

Illness limited Marks to nine minutes in the first half, and he did not play in the second.

Colorado State (17-4, 4-2) opened the game on an 8-0 run, holding the Broncos scoreless for 5-minutes, 10-seconds. The Broncos were able to pull within one point (19-18) with 8:19 remaining in the half, but went 0-for-9 from the field for the final eight-plus minutes before intermission.

The Rams extended their advantage to as many as 26 points in the second half, notching their 25th-straight home victory – the fourth-longest streak in the nation.

Mikey Thompson led the Broncos in scoring for the first time in his career (13), and Anthony Drmic added 12 points, his 10th-consecutive game in double figures.

The Rams’ Pierce Hornung led all players with 23 points and 13 rebounds.

The Broncos return to Taco Bell Arena Saturday (Feb. 2), hosting UNLV at 7 p.m.
