BOISE, Idaho (AP) - David Collette buried a 3-pointer as time expired to help Utah State sneak past Boise State 62-61 on Saturday afternoon.

Collette, who had made only 1 of 4 from behind the arc this season, got the chance for the win after Boise State guard Derrick Marks missed the front end of a 1-and-1 with 9 seconds left.

Utah State (9-5, 2-0 Mountain West) put four players in double figures and won despite scoring only five points in the final 7 minutes of the game. Chris Smith led the way with 15 points, while Collette 13, Darius Perkins 12 and Jalen Moore 10 contributed to the balanced attack.

Marks led Boise State (10-5, 0-2) with 31 points. The Broncos trailed 57-45 with 7:07 remaining but took the lead on a pair of Marks' foul shots with 1:02 left. The Broncos missed four free throws in the final 6 minutes and lost despite making 10 of 23 shots from 3-point range, including five by Marks.

The game was a back-and-forth affair. The Aggies scored the first eight points and built a 41-31 halftime advantage. Utah State made 17 of 27 shots from the field in the first half and had 13 assists on those buckets.

Boise State turned the tables in the second half, scoring the first 12 points to grab its first lead, 43-41 with 17:01 to play. The Broncos then went nearly 8 minutes without scoring as the Aggies took the 57-45 lead, but the Aggies missed 10 of 11 shots before Collette's 3-pointer from the top of the key beat the buzzer to give Utah State its third win in a row.

Nick Duncan scored all 11 points of his points in the second half for Boise State, which lost its third consecutive game.
