Broncos Improve to 11-2 with Win over UT Arlington
ARLINGTON, Texas – The Boise State men’s basketball team defeated UT Arlington 64-46 at College Park Center Wednesday, the team’s final nonconference road game of the regular season.

Jeff Elorriaga knocked down six 3-pointers en route to a game-high 22 points, as Boise State (11-2) led wire-to-wire for the third-consecutive game. The Broncos have not trailed an opponent for 132-minutes, 13-seconds.

The Broncos shot 48.9 percent from the floor (22-of-45) against UTA, which ranked fourth-nationally in defensive field goal percentage. The Mavericks (6-5) had been holding opponents to just 34.7 percent shooting this season.

Elorriaga, who set the school record with 10 3-pointers in the Broncos’ previous game against Corban, went 6-of-9 from beyond the arc against the Mavericks. He also pulled down a team-high nine rebounds, tied for the team high with four assists and led the Broncos with three steals.

Anthony Drmic added 10 points and four assists for Boise State.

UTA had no players score in double figures.

The Broncos scored just 26 points in the first half, but still led by eight points at intermission as the Mavs made just four field goals.

Drmic hit back-to-back 3-pointers in the first 40 seconds of the second period, pushing the lead to 14 (32-18). A few minutes later, Elorriaga hit a pair of 3-pointers in a span of 20 seconds – two of his five second-half threes – pushing the lead to 16 (41-25).

Boise State would extend its lead to as many as 26 points in the second half, and cruised to the victory.

The Broncos, off to their best start since also going 11-2 to start the 1994-95 season, will close out the nonconference portion of their season Saturday (Jan. 5) against Walla Walla. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Taco Bell Arena.
