Broncos Sweep WAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week Honors

DENVER - Boise State's Scott Foley and Kate Jette have been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference men and women's Cross Country Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week of Oct. 20 - 26.

Foley, a senior from Cheyenne, Wyo., placed 17th overall with a time of 26:43 (8-kilometers) at the College of Idaho Coyote Invitational on Oct. 21. Foley claimed the top spot for the Broncos, as his performance helped Boise State claim third in the meet.

Jette, a freshman from Clackamas, Ore., paced Boise State at the Coyote Invite, claiming the top spot for the Broncos for the first time in her career. She finished eighth overall in the race, recording the best time of her collegiate career at 18:58 on a 5-kilometer course. Jette's performance helped the Boise State women claim third place in the meet.

The pair each earn their first-career WAC weekly honors.

The Broncos meet up with the remainder of their WAC opponents on Saturday (Oct. 30)  for the 2010 WAC Championship meet in Moscow, Idaho.
