Broncos Primed for Wisconsin adidas Invitational

► WHAT'S HAPPENING - The Boise State men's and women's cross country teams head to the sixth annual Wisconsin adidas Invitational on Friday, Oct. 17 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wis.

The 16th-ranked Boise State women will race the 6-kilometer course at 10 a.m. MT. The Bronco men will race at 10:45 a.m. MT in the 8-kilometer course. The invitational also features "B" races after the Championship races in the morning.

Showdown in dairyland -
The Bronco men will race against 37 teams, where 19 of them are nationally ranked, including No. 3 Northern Arizona, No. 5 Portland, No 6. Syracuse, No. 7 Stanford and No. 9's UCLA and Wisconsin.

The 16th-ranked Boise State women will square off in a field of 40 teams, where more than half are nationally ranked. Six teams alone are ranked in the top-10, including No. 2 Michigan State, No. 5 Arkansas, No.6 Stanford, No. 8 Iowa State, No. 9 Florida State and No. 10 Virginia.

The men's side will feature Aaron Back, David Elliott, Jack Curran, Louis McAfee, Dan Oekerman, Andrew Rafla and Michael Vennard. The women's side will feature Emma Bates, Anne Brinegar, Sarah Hastings, Anna Holdiman, Marisa Howard, Emma Hyyppä and Gracie Tostenson.

The Broncos will make their Wisconsin adidas Invitational debut in 2014.

he Bronco women landed on the weekly USTFCCCA national rankings for the fourth time in school history. The women's program is currently ranked No. 16 (Oct. 7), its highest ranking in school history. In the 2014 USTFCCCA weekly regional rankings, Boise State's women rank No. 4 while the men rank No. 8 in the fourth week of weekly rankings the West region. In the Mountain West Preseason Coaches' Poll the women were picked second, while the men were chosen to tie for third in the conference.
