Boise State Closes Out Regular Season at ISU Pre-National Invitational

Boise State's cross country teams will head to the 2013 ISU Pre-National Invitational, Oct. 19, to compete in their final regular season meet of the season. 

► MEET SPECIFICS - The 2013 ISU Pre-National Invitational hosted by Indiana State University will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Complex located just east of Terre Haute, Ind.

The meet schedule is as follows:

11:00 a.m. (EDT) - Men's 8-kilometer Blue Race **
11:40 a.m. (EDT) - Women's 6-kilometer Blue Race **
12:15 p.m. (EDT) - Men's 8-kilometer White Race
12:55 p.m. (EDT) - Women's 6-kilometer White Race
1:30 p.m. (EDT) - Men's 8-kilometer Open Race
2:10 p.m. (EDT) - Women's 6-kilometer Open Race

► MEET ENTRY - Entry to the 2013 ISU Pre-National Invitational will have a charge of $5 for adults and students. Children two and under are free. Gates will open at 9 a.m. (ET) for spectators. 

► THE COURSE - The LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Complex has been the home to the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships nine times (2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011). The championship course will also play host to the 2013 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships, Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013.

► THE COMPETITION - Boise State's women will take on 52 teams from across the country in the women's 6-kilometer `blue' race, while the No. 19-ranked men will face 51 teams in the men's 8-kilometer `blue' race. Ranked opponents include (rankings): Butler (#20 women), Colorado (#2 men, #12 women), Florida State (#2 women), Georgetown (#24 men, #5 women), Indiana (#12 men), Iona (#18 men), Michigan (#14 women), Oklahoma State (#1 men, #19 women), Oregon (#4 men, #6 women), Penn State (#27 women), Princeton (#10 men, #23 women), Stanford (#29 men, #11 women), Tulsa (#9 men), Villanova (#23 men, #18 women), Virginia (#16 women) and William & Mary (#21 women).

► RACING BRONCOS - Seven men and seven women will compete for the Broncos this weekend, with the men racing seniors Jeff Howard, Drew O'donoghue-McDonald, Allan Schroeder and Zach Wiles, as well as juniors Aaron Back and David Elliott and redshirt sophomore Kyle Merritt. On the women's side seniors Kate Jette, Lauren Lucas, Erin McLaughlin and Taryn Treadway are joined by redshirt juniors Emma Bates and Marisa Howard, as well as redshirt freshman Shannon Susbauer.

► WEEKLY RANKINGS - The dates of Oct. 14 (regional) and Oct. 15 (national) remain idle for weekly rankings released by the US Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association. The USTFCCCA released regional rankings last Monday (Oct. 7), as well as national rankings on Tuesday (Oct. 8), and will not release rankings again until Oct. 21 (regional) and Oct. 22 (national).

Continuing to hold solid spots from the Oct. 7 regional rankings, the Boise State men sit at No. 3 in the West Region, while the women rank No. 6. In the Oct. 8 national rankings, the Boise State men jumped to No. 19 in the nation's top-30 poll, while the women moved into the `receiving votes' section sitting just outside the top-30.
