Broncos Take on Nation's Best at 2012 Pre-National Invitational

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State's men's and women's cross country teams take to the course in their final regular-season meet on Sat., Oct. 13 at the 2012 Pre-National Invitational held in Louisville, Ky.

The meet will be hosted by the University of Louisville, who also serves as the 2012 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championship host. Both meets will be held at the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park.

The 2012 Pre-National meet contains four races, the "Men's Red", "Women's Red", "Men's Black" and "Women's Black", which are slated to begin at 7:30 a.m. (MT) and run through about 10:00 a.m. (MT). The men will run an 8-kilometer course while the women will run a 5-kilometer distance.

The Broncos travel nearly 2,000-miles to compete against some of the nation's top team to help prep them for the 2012 postseason. Nationally ranked women's teams slated to compete are: No. 1 Florida State, No. 4 Oregon, No. 6 Georgetown, No. 10 Michigan, No. 15 Toledo, No. 17 William and Mary, No. 24 Villanova and No. 25 Butler. On the men's side, nationally ranked teams slated to race are: No. 3 BYU, No. 9 Tulsa, No. 12 Villanova, No. 14 Florida State, No. 15 Oregon, No. 20 Georgetown, No. 21 Eastern Kentucky, No. 23 William and Mary and No. 26 Indiana.

Boise State will send Sarah Bisterfeldt, Kate Jette, Lauren Lucas, Erin McLaughlin, Tessa Murray, Taryn Treadway and Marisa VanderMalle to represent the women's team while the men's team is Aaron Back, David Elliott, Jeff Howard, Drew O'donoghue-McDonald, Allan Schroeder, Barak Watson and Zach Wiles.
