Broncos to Face Tough Opponents at Bill Dellinger Invitational

The Boise State men's and women's cross country teams will race in just their second meet of the season Saturday, Oct. 5, at the eighth annual Bill Dellinger Invitational in Springfield, Ore.

► MEET SPECIFICS - The Bill Dellinger Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon, will take place at the Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Ore. The meet is slated for an 11:30 a.m. (MT) start with the men's 8-kilometer race, followed by the women's 5-kilometer race at 12:15 p.m. (MT). Parking for the event will take place at Mohawk Elementary School with a free shuttle running from parking to the race course. Additional meet information can be found here or on

► THE COMPETITION - The Broncos will take on host team, Oregon, with the No. 4-ranked men and No. 5-ranked women in the nation. They will also face Portland (No. 8 men), Washington (No. 7 women), Gonzaga, Idaho, Oregon State, Portland State, Wichita State, Seattle, Guelph, Mt. SAC, Clark College and University of Victoria.

► RACING BRONCOS - Six men and nine women will compete for the Broncos this weekend, with the men being represented by seniors Jeff Howard, Drew O'donoghue-McDonald, Allan Schroeder and Zach Wiles, as well as juniors Aaron Back and David Elliott. On the women's side seniors Kate Jette, Lauren Lucas, Erin McLaughlin and Taryn Treadway are joined by juniors Emma Bates, Hayley Gregoire and Marisa Howard, as well as redshirt freshmen Shelby McIntyre and Shannon Susbauer.

► WEEKLY RANKINGS - The Bronco men remain in the "Receiving Votes" category of the USTFCCCA National Top-30 polls this week, their third-straight week just outside the top-30. The Bronco women dropped out of the "Receiving Votes" category this week after sneaking in last week. In the 2013 USTFCCCA weekly regional rankings, Boise State's men sit at No. 6 for the third week in a row, while the women rank No. 8 for the third week. In the Mountain West Midseason Coaches' Poll the women were picked second, while the men were third.
