Women Ranked No. 6 in USTFCCCA Poll
Aug. 30, 2016

The USTFCCCA released their National Coaches’ Poll on Tuesday afternoon, and both the Boise State men’s and women’s cross country teams received top-30 national rankings. The women’s team was tabbed No. 6, and the men were pegged at No. 16. Both are the highest preseason rankings for each respective program in school history.

Both teams competed at the NCAA National Championships last season with the women taking 11th and the men finishing in 16th. Last year marked the first year in school history that both teams earned berths and competed at nationals in the same season.

2015 NCAA National Runner-Up Allie Ostrander was also recently named the No. 1 women’s runner in a preseason ranking from FloTrack. Fellow sophomore Brenna Peloquin wasn’t far behind, receiving a No. 6 nod in that same poll.

The two returning All-America honorees make Boise State the only school in the poll to have two student-athletes ranked in the top 10.

The Broncos will begin their 2016 campaign this Saturday, Sept. 3 at the Aggie Invitational in Logan, Utah hosted by Utah State.
