Broncos Picked Second, Third in 2013 MW Cross Country Coaches Poll

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State women’s and men’s cross country teams were selected second and third (tied), respectively, in the 2013 Mountain West Preseason Cross Country Coaches’ Polls, Thursday. 

Boise State’s women earned the second pick out of 11 teams in the conference, earning 85-points. The vote moves the Broncos up one spot from their third-place finish at the 2012 Mountain West Cross Country Championships.

The Bronco men garnered 34-points to tie with Colorado State for the third pick out of eight teams in the preseason poll, jumping one spot from their fourth-place finish at the 2012 conference championship meet.

New Mexico swept the polls as the favorite earning 100-points and 10 first-place votes on the women’s side, as well as 49-points and eight first-place votes on the men’s side.

Air Force was selected second in the men’s poll with one first-place vote (42 points), while Colorado State’s women earned one first-place vote, but came in third in the poll with 83-points.

The 2013 Mountain West Cross Country Championships will be hosted by the Air Force Academy at the Eisenhower Blue Course in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Friday, Nov. 1.
