BOISE, Idaho - Boise State's Jeff Howard, along with the Bronco men's and women's cross country teams were named All-Academic honorees by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), Friday (Feb. 14).

Howard becomes the first Bronco to earn an individual USTFCCCA All-Academic honor in cross country. The senior, majoring in K-12 Physical Education, was given the award after placing in the top-15 at the NCAA West Regional this past November and earning a 3.25 or better cumulative grade point average.  Howard was one of 72 NCAA Division I men to collect the honor.

Howard is joined by his teammates in earning a 2013 USTFCCCA All-Academic team nod, the second time in Bronco history the men's team has earned the award (first in 2009). The men were one of 160 NCAA Division I men's teams to earn the award.

The Bronco women earned their fourth USTFCCCA All-Academic team honor, adding to their nods in 1995, 2010 and 2011. The women were one of 217 women's team to earn the award.

Boise State's men and women were one of 146 combined (men's and women's) programs to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic team honors for the 2013 cross country season.

Teams earning honors had to compete as a team at the NCAA Regional Championships and earn a combined cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or better.
