2015 Fall Academic All-MW Team Announced
Feb. 11, 2016

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Fall 2015 Academic All-Mountain West Team was announced Thursday, and 61 Boise State student-athletes received recognition, setting a fall semester school record since joining the league in 2011.

The Broncos’ five fall sports – men’s cross country, women’s cross country, football, soccer and volleyball – produced the second-most student-athletes in the conference this semester behind Utah State’s 63.

To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0-or-better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.

Football’s 30 selections were the most for any football program in the conference. Since joining the Mountain West, the Bronco football team has led the league in all-academic selections all five seasons.

Soccer tied its previous Mountain West high with 14 student-athletes on the team, and volleyball’s eight members are the most since joining the Mountain West. Men’s cross country placed five members on the team, while women’s cross country put four on the list.

The Broncos had five athletes earn perfect 4.0 GPAs for the 2015 fall semester, including Kelsey Young (football), Minttu Hukka (women’s cross country), Allie Ostrander (women’s cross country), Brenna Peloquin (women’s cross country) and Phoebe Bell (volleyball).
