The Boise State track and field team will open the 2016-17 indoor season this Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Jacksons Open at Jacksons Track in the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho. The Jacksons Open is the first of five indoor meets that the Broncos will host at the Idaho Center this season.

WHEN: The first event of the day (men’s high jump) will start at 9 a.m., and the day will conclude with the men’s 4x400m relay at 3:35 p.m. The first running event (women’s 60m) will go off at 11 a.m.

WHO: Boise State will be joined by athletes from Central Washington, Lewis-Clark State, Multnomah, Nevada, Northwest Nazarene, Saint Martin’s and Utah.

TICKETS AND PARKING: Tickets for the day are $5 for adults. They are $3 for students with their ID cards, kids 6-12 years old and seniors who are 60 or older. Kids 5 and under get in free, and parking is also free.

ALL-MW PERFORMERS: This Saturday’s meet will be full of Broncos who have previously achieved All-Mountain West honors in cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field. On the women’s side, the former all-conference honorees include Sadi Henderson (Indoor – 800m), Anna McDonald (Cross Country), Allison Jeffries (Indoor – Pole Vault) and Courtney Hutchinson (Outdoor – Shot Put).

The men’s all-conference honorees include Alexandru Terpezan (Indoor and Outdoor 200m, Indoor and Outdoor 4x400m Relay), Fernando Martinez (Outdoor 400m Hurdles, Indoor Distance Medley Relay and Outdoor 4x400m Relay), Bryce Kirby (Outdoor 4x400m Relay Team), Dusty Fisher (Indoor 400m, Outdoor 400m and 200m, and Outdoor 4x400m Relay) and Camden Stoddard (Outdoor Pole Vault).

WARMING UP FOR THE YEAR: With the majority of the Bronco distance squad still recovering from the cross country season and building towards the upcoming indoor track and field season, the sprinters, jumpers, throwers and middle distance runners will get their chance to shake off some rust with their first meet of the season.

DIRECTIONS TO THE IDAHO CENTER: The Idaho Center sits on the north side of East Franklin Road, between Idaho Center Blvd. and Star Road, approximately one-half mile north of Interstate 84. If coming from I-84, take Exit 38 and go north approximately one-half mile to the light (E. Franklin Rd.). Go right at the light and continue approximately another one-half mile and turn left onto Equine Drive. Continue another one-quarter mile and the building will be on the right.
