“This is our first chance to gauge the team’s fall training,” said head coach Mike Maynard. “We have been training next to teammates since Sept., but it adds a whole new dynamic when you bring in outside competition.”

The Players - Although the meet will not be scored, Boise State individuals have the chance to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Some of the individuals that will be looking to achieve those marks on the first day of the indoor season will be Eleni Kafourou, Breanna Sande, Zacharias Arnos and Simon Wardhaugh.

Eleni Kafourou participated in the triple jump at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor National Track and Field Championships in Sacramento, Calif. Throughout the 2007 season, Kafourou captured numerous first place finishes in the long and triple jumps including winning both at the Boise State Twilight Classic.

Simon Wardhaugh was the 10th seed in the hammer at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor National Track and Field Championships. His best performance of the season in the hammer throw came at Boise State Twilight Classic where he registered a 66.90M (219-06).

Zacharias Arnos earned an automatic bid to the 2007 NCAA Outdoor National Track and Field Championships in the triple jump after earning an automatic bid at the regional meet. He also captured the individual title at the Boise State Twilight Classic when he recorded a 15.46M (50-08.75) in the triple jump.

It had always been our tradition to open up the indoor track and field season with an intrasquad meet but this year we decided to do something different,’ said Maynard.
