Track and Field Signs Top Recruit

BOISE, Idaho Boise State University track and field Head Coach Mike Maynard announced the signing of Trevor Kraychir to a National Letter of Intent, Wednesday.

Kraychir, a senior at Twentynine Palms High School in Twentynine Palms, Calif., is one of the top-ranked high school throwers in the nation. Last season Kraychir posted the third best 25-pound weight throw (74-11) and the third best 35-pound weight throw (56-1) in the nation.

"Trevor will add to, and continue the dominance of our track and field team by adding to the depth and quality of our throws squad,” Maynard said. “Trevor will strengthen one of the cornerstone events for the Broncos, the hammer throw. As a program on the move we are excited to be in the position of attracting the nation’s top high school talent."

While throwing for VS Athletic Track Club at the USATF Club Nationals last year, Kraychir placed third in the 16-pound hammer with a throw of 189-3. He also placed third at the Nike High School Nationals in Washington, D.C.

Kraychir’s father, Hank, was a four-time All-American in the shot put and discus while at USC.
