Townsend-Roberts Qualifies in 100m

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil –
Roderick Townsend-Roberts took third place in the first heat of the opening round of the 100m - T45/46/47 Saturday morning at the 2016 Paralympic Games. He ran a personal-best time of 11.07, securing a spot in the final.

The Bronco alumnus was the top finisher from the United States. His time was the sixth-fastest overall, as Brazil’s Petrucio Ferreira Dos Santos ran a world-record 10.67 to go through as the top qualifier.

He will compete in the final on Sunday morning at 7:45 a.m. (MT). Townsend-Roberts will also participate in the men’s long jump – T45/46/47 and the men’s high jump – T45/46/47 later next week.
