SACRAMENTO, Calif.
– Boise State alum Marisa Howard earned a top-10 finish Saturday afternoon in the 3,000m steeplechase, taking sixth place at the USATF Outdoor Championships. Howard ran a 9:44.66 on what was an extremely hot day in Sacramento.

Howard stuck with the initial move made by the eventual winner, Emma Coburn, but couldn’t stay attached with the lead pack that also consisted of the second and third place finishers, Courtney Frerichs and Colleen Quigley. Howard – who runs professionally for Oiselle – continued to persist and recorded the best finish for any former or current Bronco at this week’s championships.

Team USA will now prepare for the IAAF World Championships in London from August 4-13.
