CoSIDA Release/Full List

– Boise State distance runner Brenna Peloquin was named to the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-America Women’s Division I Track & Field/Cross Country Third Team, CoSIDA announced on Friday morning. Peloquin is the first Boise State cross country or track and field athlete to earn Academic All-America honors.

The sophomore was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 Team a month ago, making her eligible for the honor she received today. Peloquin was one of 14 women’s honorees to possess a perfect cumulative grade-point-average of 4.0.

Peloquin is the fifth Bronco this year to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, joining Brittany Aoyama (swimming and diving), Steven Baggett (football), Mason Hampton (football) and Sean Wale (football)

The honor is another feather in the cap for the health science studies major that is already a three-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree.

As an athlete, Peloquin logged one of the most successful cross country seasons in school history last fall. The sophomore took sixth at the NCAA National Championships, good for the fourth All-America honor of her career and the best finish at a national championship in her first two seasons as a Bronco.

Prior to nationals she also picked up USTFCCCA All-West Region honors after taking fourth at the NCAA West Regionals. She was also named to the All-Mountain West first team thanks to a fourth-place effort at the conference championships.

The Gig Harbor, Wash., native began the regular season by winning two prestigious races in the ultra-competitive Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational and the grueling Roy Griak Invitational.

She also took third in the 5,000m at the indoor conference championships, picking up all-league honors in the process.

To be eligible for selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, nominees must own a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30, have completed at least one year at their current institution, and be a starter or significant contributor who has competed in at least half of their team's competitions.
