BOISE, Idaho Former Boise State track and field team member Ryan Grinnell will travel to Eugene, Ore. this week to compete in the 2009 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted at the University of Oregon’s legendary Hayward Field, Thursday-Sunday (June 25-28).

            Grinnell, who recently completed his senior season for the Broncos in 2009, will compete in the long and triple jumps at the National Championships this weekend. The top track and field athletes in the country will be competing for the chance to represent the United States at the IAAF World Championships in Berlin, Germany this August.

            The triple jump finals are scheduled for Thursday at 5:15 p.m. (PT) Meanwhile, the long jump finals will take place at 4:20 p.m. (PT) on Saturday. Grinnell enters the triple jump with the fourth-best qualifying mark in the field (54-0.5/16.47m).

            Grinnell is coming off a remarkable career in blue and orange, which was capped by a ninth-place finish in the triple jump at the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Championships. He was also the only student-athlete in the nation, of either gender, to compete at this year’s NCAA Outdoor Championships in all three jumping events.
