WARDHAUGH NAMED TO MEN?S TRACK/CROSS COUNTRY ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

BOISE, Idaho Boise State senior Simon Wardhaugh’s track and field honors keep coming, as he was named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Men’s Track/Cross Country District 8 All-Academic Team, Thursday (June 4), as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

            The CoSIDA All-Academic selections feature eight districts, which are each broken into university and college divisions. Wardhaugh, who is from Bracken Ridge, Australia (University of Queensland), was named First-Team University Division for District 8. He received the honor by maintaining a 3.41 GPA as a Business Management major.

             Wardhaugh is preparing to lead Boise State at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., June 10-13, after winning the men’s hammer throw at the Western Athletic Conference Championships and the NCAA West Regional meet. He will head to the NCAA Championship meet with the sixth best hammer throw in the country (224-00/68.29m).
