BRONCOS WIN TWO EVENTS ON FINAL DAY OF WEST REGIONAL MEET

EUGENE, Oregon - The Boise State track and field team won two events, Saturday, on the final day of competition at the NCAA West Regional Outdoor Track and Field meet in Eugene, Ore. By each winning an event at the regional meet, senior's Ryan Grinnell and Simon Wardhaugh have earned automatic bids to the NCAA National Championships, June 9-13, in Fayetteville, Ark.

Grinnell earned his second automatic berth of the weekend by winning the men's triple jump with a leap of 53-09.75 (16.40m). Grinnell also automatically qualified for nationals on Friday, by placing fourth in the high jump.

Wardhaugh earned Boise State's final automatic bid to NCAA's by winning the hammer throw on Saturday with a toss of 216-10 (66.09m). Wardhaugh entered the weekend with the top mark in the region so far this season (224-00/68.29m). His mark was also ranked No. 6 nationally heading into regionals.
