BOISE, Idaho -
Boise State cross country and track and field standout Brenna Peloquin was named to the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District 7 Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field Team, CoSIDA announced Thursday morning.  The honor is the first of Peloquin’s career and makes her the first Bronco on the women's cross country or track and field team to attain the all-district accolade since Carly Gerard in 2011.

To be eligible for selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, nominees must own a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.30, have completed at least one year at their current institution, and be a starter or significant contributor who has competed in at least half of their team's competitions.

Sporting a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA, Peloquin has excelled in the classroom in her two years at Boise State. The health science studies major has already been named an Academic All-Mountain West honoree on three occasions so far in her young career.

As an athlete, Peloquin logged one of the most successful cross country seasons in school history this past fall. The sophomore took sixth at the NCAA National Championships, good for the fourth All-America honor of her career and the best finish at a national championship in her first two seasons as a Bronco.

Prior to nationals she also picked up USTFCCCA All-West Region honors after taking fourth at the NCAA West Regionals. She was also named to the All-Mountain West first team thanks to a fourth-place effort at the conference championships.

The Gig Harbor, Wash., native began the regular season by winning two prestigious races in the ultra-competitive Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational and the grueling Roy Griak Invitational.

She also took third in the 5k at the indoor conference championships, picking up all-league honors in the process.

Peloquin will now advance to the national ballot for the Academic Women's Cross Country/Track & Field All-America Team, which is scheduled to be announced June 23.
