Mountain West Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.
-- The Mountain West announced the Outdoor Track and Field All-Conference team this afternoon, and the Broncos had six men and three women come away with a combined 16 all-league honors. Sprinters Dusty Fisher and Alexandru Terpezan led the way with three honors apiece. All-league selections were awarded to the top-three finishers in each event at this past week's championships.

Fisher picked up all-conference accolades in the 200m, 400m and 4x400m relay while Terpezan earned his in the 100m, 200m and 4x400m relay. Terpezan will end his Bronco career with seven All-Mountain West honors between indoor and outdoor track and field. Fisher (who is just a redshirt junior) currently has nine such career conference accolades between both seasons

The remainder of the 4x400m relay team -- Fernando Martinez and Bryce Kirby -- helped the squad take third in the penultimate event of the day with a 3:08.60, good for the school record by one-hundredth of a second. Kirby also earned an all-conference nod after winning the 100m and Martinez' runner-up performance in the 400m hurdles also gave him all-league honors.

In total, the four sprinters accounted for 50 of the men's 92 team points.

Yusuke Uchikoshi's victory in the 3,000m steeplechase was also accompanied with a spot on the all-conference team and Camden Stoddard was able to take second in the men's pole vault to round out the six men on the list.

For the women it was Allie Ostrander leading the way with her individual title in the 10,000m and runner-up finish in the 5,000m. The redshirt freshman's 18 points on the week was the most for any Bronco on the women's side.

Sadi Henderson easily won the 800m to earn her all-league honor. Henderson captured both the indoor and outdoor 800m conference titles in the 2017 track and field season. Alexis Fuller's second-place performance in the 1,500m also gave her an all-league accolade.

The Broncos will now wait for the official declarations to be finalized to know which athletes will be competing at the 2017 NCAA West Preliminary Championships in Austin, Texas from May 25-27. The top 48 athletes and top 24 relay teams in both the west and east regions earn qualifying spots, but athletes and relay teams will scratch from certain events for a variety of reasons, opening the doors for athletes and relay teams on the outside looking in.
