ANDERSON LEADS BOISE STATE AFTER FIRST DAY OF WAC OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

LOGAN, Utah - The Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships presented by Springhill Suites got underway, Wednesday (May 13), as the men’s decathlon and women’s heptathlon completed the first of two days of competition in Ralph Maughan Track Stadium in Logan, Utah.

Boise State freshman Steve Anderson leads the way for Broncos through five events. Anderson is in sixth-place with 3400 points. He is joined by senior Eric Demers, who has 3152 points heading into day-two of the conference championship meet. John Strang of Utah State leads the decathlon with 3866 points.

On the women’s side, Ann Noyes is Boise State’s lone representative in the heptathlon. After four events Noyes currently sits in 12th-place with 2398 points. Annett Wichmann leads the heptathlon with 3233 points.

Both the decathlon and heptathlon will conclude on Thursday. The rest of the WAC championship meet will begin on Friday with events wrapping up on Saturday.
