BRONCOS FINISH FOURTH AND SIXTH IN DECATHLON AT WAC TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

            FRESNO, Calif. Eric Demers placed fourth, while his Boise State University teammate Heigo Nurmsalu finished sixth in the decathlon on Thursday (May 10) at the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

            Demers scored 5,154 points with Nurmsalu scoring 3,283 points.

            John Strang of Utah State University won the decathlon with 6,770 points, followed by Fresno State’s Evan Young with 6,659 points.

            The Bronco twosome combined to score five team points for Boise State.

            The remaining events for this year’s league championships begins tomorrow (Thursday, May 11) on the Fresno State campus.

            Boise State is the defending outdoor men’s team champion and will be trying to go for four straight track and field titles in the league.  The Bronco men also won the 2006 and 2007 indoor team championships.
