Broncos take the week off to Prep for WAC Championships
The Boise State track and field team will take the weekend off from competition in order to prep for the 2010 Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Ruston, La., May 12-15.

Although the Broncos don't have a scheduled competition this week, the team and a handful of individuals are still in the weekly national rankings.

The Boise State men fall six spots to No. 52 this week out of the 184 ranked teams. Zacharias Arnos holds the highest individual ranking amongst the Broncos, sitting at No. 3 in the nation in the triple jump. Arnos also ranks No. 15 in the nation in the long jump. In the javelin, Pontus Thomee holds the No. 21 spot while Trevor Kraychir and Alex Nelson are ranked No. 33 and No. 50, respectively, in the hammer throw. Kurt Felix holds the No. 32 spot in the decathlon while Sawyer Bosch ranks No. 50 in the 3000-meter steeplechase.

On the women's side, Boise State moves up 10 spots this week to No. 62 out of the 196 ranked teams in the nation. Senior Eleni Kafourou holds the No. 8 spot in the nation in the long jump and is ranked No. 10 in the nation in triple jump. Sasa Kampic also holds a national ranking, sitting at No. 38 in the javelin throw.

The Broncos head to Ruston, La., next week to take part in the WAC Championships. The multi-events will take place Wednesday and Thursday, May 12-13, while the individual events and relays will take place on Friday and Saturday, May 14-15.
