The Boise State track and field team will host their lone outdoor home meet of the season this weekend when the Border Clash comes to Ed Jacoby Track at Dona Larsen Park this weekend from April 29-30. Schools from Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Wyoming will make up the field.

A handful of athletes in the Bronco distance group will return to Stanford, Calif., and compete in the Payton Jordan Invitational on Sunday, May 1 at Cobb Track and Angell Field.

BORDER CLASH

TICKETS/PROMOTIONS: Adult tickets are $6, while junior (2-18) and senior (62+) tickets are $4. Students are free with a valid Boise State student I.D. card.

In addition, Saturday is cancer awareness day at Dona Larsen Park, and fans are encouraged to wear pink for a $3 ticket in conjunction with the softball game at 4 p.m.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS: Boise State, BYU, College of Idaho, Eastern Oregon, Idaho, Idaho State, Lewis and Clark State, Northwest Nazarene, Utah State, Utah Valley, Weber State and Wyoming

SCHEDULE: Friday’s action will begin at 3:30 p.m. with the men’s discus and the women’s hammer throw, and it will conclude with the women’s 5,000-meter run at 6:50 p.m. Saturday will open with the women’s javelin and women’s 1,500-meter run at 10 a.m., and the meet will end with the men’s 4x400m relay at 2:50 p.m.

PARKING: For Friday, parking will be available on the east side of Albertsons Stadium with a shuttle transporting fans to and from Ed Jacoby Track starting at 1 p.m. and going all the way until the end of the event that day. Saturday parking can be found at the Washington Group Plaza building on 720 Park Boulevard. Fans can drop off and pick up at the Dona Larsen Park parking lot, but no parking will be allotted for track meet attendees.

WEST REGION QUALIFYING TIMES/MARKS: Athletes with times and marks ranked in the top 48 of the West Region will compete in the 2016 NCAA West Regionals in Lawrence, Kan., on May 26-28. The following Broncos who have the qualifying times and marks are;

Men

Women

PAYTON JORDAN INVITATIONAL
This will mark the 21st year of the Payton Jordan Invitational. Fast times are expected, especially with IAAF Olympic standards and Olympic Trials qualifying in mind. Last year, there were two world-leading, seven American-leading, and nine collegiate-leading marks. Fifty men broke 14:00 in the 5,000 and 37 women broke 16:00 for the same distance.
