BOISE, Idaho--Boise State senior track and cross country student-athlete Kate Jette was named a Top Ten Scholar, the highest academic honor granted to a Boise State University undergraduate student.

A native of Clackamas, Ore., Jette was honored as a Mountain West Scholar Athlete on multiple occasions. She earned all-conference honors each year she competed, and was named to the All-WAC Academic Freshman Team.

As she did in the classroom, Jette also competed in athletics. She was an all-conference second team selection in the 3000m steeplechase. Jette also earned weekly conference honors and raced to a ninth-place finish at the Mt. SAC Relays in the 3000m steeplechase in her rookie season.

The award is presented by Boise State Alumni Association and Boise State Honors College to recognize the best and brightest, and serve as inspirations for their fellow students. To qualify for consideration, the student must have a 3.8 or higher grade point average and be nominated by their respective deans. Each student is reviewed based on academic breadth of coursework, research, creative works or publications, presentations at professional meetings or conferences, honors and awards and extracurricular community and campus service.

A biology and health science studies major, Jette plans on attending Oregon State to pursue her master's degree in teaching.
