Distance Crew Returns to Stanford

The Boise State distance group will travel to Stanford, Calif., for the second time this season for the Stanford Twilight on Friday, April 22. The one-day meet will feature Broncos competing in the 800m, 1,500m and 5,000m races.

MEET SCHEDULE (All times are Mountain): All of the action will take place on Friday night, with the first event beginning at 7:10 p.m. and the last going off at 9:40 p.m.

HISTORIC SEASON THUS FAR: Including indoors, both of the Bronco men’s and women’s teams have made a splash on the school’s top-three performance list. Check out some of the history made so far:



WEST REGION QUALIFYING TIMES: With the top 48 times and marks from the west region set to receive qualifying spots in the NCAA West Preliminary Championships, here is the list of the Broncos who are currently qualified with a month of the season remaining.

Men

LAST TIME OUT: The Broncos saw four athletes enjoy personal-best marks or times on the final day of competition at the Oregon Relays in Eugene, Ore. Fernando Martinez had the best finish of the day for Boise State, taking second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 51.84, and Rex Stanley (53.05) was close behind him in fifth.

Camden Stoddard enjoyed an outdoor career best in the men’s pole vault, clearing a height of 15-11.25 (4.86m) for fifth place. Taj Dorsett tallied a personal best when she recorded a 36-9 (11.20m) in the triple jump for ninth. Alexandru Terpezan had an outdoor personal best when he clocked a 48.43 for fourth place in the 400m.

On day one it was the 200m sprinters who fared the best, as Dusty Fisher (21.37) recorded a third-place finish and Terpezan (21.44) was fourth. The Broncos will return to competition next weekend and partake in the Stanford Twilight in Stanford, Calif., on Friday, April 22.

DISTANCE CREW: After a three-week hiatus, the Bronco distance crew will be back in action on the same track that they competed on at the Stanford Invitational. Elliott set the 5,000m school record at that meet with a time of 13:42.17 and several other athletes enjoyed personal-best times.
