Broncos Head to Mt. SAC Relays, Beach Invite and Mark Faldmo Invite

► What's Happening - The Boise State track and field team split their squad for the second straight week, this time sending the Broncos to three different meets over the April 14-16 weekend. The first set of Broncos will head to the 53rd Annual Mt. SAC Relays held April 14-16 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. Many of the same athletes, as well as a few extras will then head to the Beach Invitational on April 15-16 at Cerritos College. The majority of the Bronco squad will stay a little closer to home, heading to Logan, Utah, for the Mark Faldmo Invitational hosted by Utah State.  


MT. SAC RELAYS
► Meet Specifics -
The Mt. SAC Relays is a large meet which includes collegiate, open, high school, elite and Olympic development sections. Thursday evening (April 14) will consist of a distance carnival with the steeplechase and 10000-meter events, while Friday and Saturday will include all other track and field events.

► Traveling Broncos -
Broncos heading to the Mt. SAC Relays include: Erin McLaughlin, Sarah Bisterfeldt, Brad Bogden and Jeff Howard (10000-meters); Shea Hanson, Kate Jette, Sawyer Bosch, Kevin Higgs and Allan Schroeder (3000-meter steeplechase); Alexi Morton and Tajanee Simmons (100 hurdles); Simmons and  Emily Funkhouser (400 hurdles); BreAnna Craig, Heidi Dorling and Danielle Valentine (pole vault); Quinten Hennekam (1500); Brian Pierre and Drew O'donoghue-McDonald (5000); Eetu Viitala (long jump) and Josh Butler (triple jump).  

► Ranked Broncos - Out of those heading to Mt. SAC, only Eetu Viitala holds a top-100 national ranking, sitting at No. 14 in the nation in the long jump. 

BEACH INVITATIONAL
► Meet Specifics -
The Beach Invitational is run in conjunction with the Mt. SAC Relays, hosting many athletes who competed earlier in the week at the relays and want to get another competition under their belts. The meet is hosted by Long Beach State but held at Cerritos College's track in Norwalk, Calif. A full schedule will not be released until April 14, but will be available at www.longbeachstate.com.

► Traveling Broncos - Broncos set to compete at the Beach Invitational include: BreAnna Craig, Heidi Dorling and Danielle Valentine in the pole vault; Emily Funkhouser in the 800-meters; Alexi Morton in the 200-meters, high jump and long jump; Tajanee Simmons in the 100-meters and 100-meter hurdles; and Josh Butler in the high jump and triple jump.

MARK FALDMO INVITATIONAL
► Meet Specifics -
The Mark Faldmo Invitational will be held on Saturday, April 16 at the Ralph Maughn Stadium in Logan, Utah. The meet is slated to begin at 10 a.m. (Mountain) with the men's hammer, women's javelin and women's long jump. Track events begin at 11:45 a.m. with the 3000-meter steeplechase and will end at 4 p.m. with the 4x400-meter relays. Results will be available after the meet at www.utahstateaggies.com.

► Traveling Broncos - The majority of the Boise State's squad will be heading to Logan, Utah, including: Manoah Wesson, Jeff Daw, Paul Robertson, Karrie Butler, Eric Capelle, Eddie Essien, Justin Malnes, Anthony Belcher, Rolando Trammel, Austin Edwards, Michael Walrath, Dusty Klein, Matt Moyer, Nick Tatro, Ethan Slight, Chase Sexton, Trevor Kraychir, Alex Nelson, Pontus Thomee, Ashtyn Lamb and Tyler Rackleff for the men; and Mackenzie Flannigan, Taryn Campos, Yvonne Bennett, Cyntrail Pierce, Emily Field, Andrea Wilson, Racquel Jones, Destiny Gammage, Steffanie Jordan, Shannon Jacobs, Kimberly Miller, Andrea Morones, Alex Bell, Courteney Satko, Rici Morill, Jamie Knapp, Lauren Lucas, Piper Delaney, Carly Gerard, Alyssa Osai, Nadine Russell, Kady Stafford, Rachelle Buck, Paige Orcutt, Sam Alderman and Taryn Treadway for the women.

► Ranked Broncos - Out of those traveling to Utah, six hold top-100 national rankings in their respective events. Rolando Trammel ranks No. 73 in the 110-meter hurdles as well as No. 60 in the 400-meter hurdles, while Justin Malnes joins in the short hurdles at No. 99. Chase Sexton ranks No. 88 in the discus, while Pontus Thomee sits at No. 75 in the javelin. Alex Nelson holds the highest ranking for a Bronco traveling to the Mark Faldmo meet, sitting at No. 15 in the hammer. Trevor Kraychir joins Nelson in the hammer rankings, sitting at No. 38.
