Zacharias Arnos Garners WAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week Honor

DENVER - Boise State's Zacharias Arnos has been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the week of March 22-28.

Arnos, a senior from Nicosia, Greece (Archbishop Mauarios III Lyceum), placed second in both the triple jump and the long jump at the Arizona State University Team Invite over the weekend. Arnos had a leap of 50 feet, 11.5 inches (15.53 meters) in the triple jump, missing first place by just 1.5 inches. The senior's mark is first in the WAC by over two feet and ranks fifth in the nation. Arnos' jump of 24-7 (7.49m) in the long jump tops the WAC by over a foot and is tied for 12th in the nation.

Idaho's Josh Dalton was named the Verizon WAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Other track nominees included: Boise State's Jeff Howard, Fresno State's Danny Vartanian, Louisiana Tech's Wade MaGaha and Utah State's Brian McKenna.

Other field nominees included: Fresno State's Tim Greene and Idaho's James Rogan.
