Post, Osai Snag MW Athlete of the Week Honors

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State redshirt junior Matt Post was named Mountain West Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, while Boise State senior Alyssa Osai shared the MW Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honor with Colorado State sophomore Kiah Hicks for meets held March 20-25. It is the first MW weekly honor for all three student-athletes.

Post, a native of Rocklin, Calif., threw outdoors for the first time as a Bronco on March 22 at the Arizona State Invite in Tempe, Ariz. Post finished third out of 19 competitors in the hammer throw with a distance of 196'-2.00'' (59.79m). The throw, which ranks second in the MW and 29th in the nation, is a personal best.

Osai, from San Carlos, Calif., finished fourth in the hammer at the Arizona State Invite. Her mark of 194'-10.00'' (59.39m) improved on her career-best by one foot. It is the top throw in the MW and 16th-best nationally this season.

Hicks, who hails from Colorado Springs, Colo., won the discus and hammer and finished second in the shot put at the Tom Benich Invitational in Greeley, Colo.
