Felix Ends Run at 2012 NCAA Championships

NAMPA, Idaho - Boise State's Kurt Felix competed on day two of the 2012 NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships Saturday (March 10), participating in the men's heptathlon. Felix entered the day in second-place after totaling 3,343-points over day one's four events.

Day two began with the 60-meter hurdles where Felix, a senior, placed 13 th in the field with a time of 8.43-seconds. After five events he moved to fifth overall, totaling 4,221-points.

The St. Davids, Grenada, native had an off day in the pole vault, failing to clear a height or earn points in the competition's sixth event. After scoring no points in the event and dropping in the standings, Felix opted to not compete in the 1000-meters, ending his participation of the meet.

Friday, Felix earned a ninth-place finish in the long jump, while teammate Mele Vaisima earned a sixth-place finish in the weight throw in her first trip to a national meet. The pair finish out the 2012 indoor season for the Broncos.

The Broncos turn their sights to the 2012 outdoor season in the coming weeks. The team will travel to Tempe, Ariz., for the ASU Invitational, March 23-23 to kick-off their outdoor season.
