COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The field for the 2017 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships was released on Wednesday, and Boise State will be represented by Sadi Henderson in the 800m. Henderson’s season-best time of 2:04.01 will be the No. 11 time in the field entering the championships which will take place on the campus of Texas A&M in College Station, Texas on March 10-11.

2017 will mark the second year in a row that the Boise State women have been represented at the indoor championships, as Allie Ostrander qualified for both the 3,000m and 5,000m last season. Henderson, however, will be the first women’s 800m runner at an NCAA Championships – indoor or outdoor – in school history. She is the first women’s middle distance runner to compete at the indoor championships since Niamh Beirne ran the mile in 1996.

With the top 16 times in each individual event qualifying to nationals, Henderson safely made it through thanks to her 2:04.01 that she clocked at the UW Invitational on Jan. 28 in Seattle. The time was not only a school record, but it also stands as the second-fastest women’s 800m time in Mountain West history.

She excelled at the conference championships, as well, winning the 800m title with a Mountain West Championship record time of 2:04.83. Henderson also ran the 1,200m leg on the winning distance medley team that recorded an 11:19.39 for the second-fastest time in school history and the second-fastest time in Mountain West Championship history.

The women’s 800m preliminary will be run on Friday, March 10 at 6:10 p.m. (MT) in the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium at the McFerrin Athletic Center on the campus of Texas A&M. The final is scheduled for 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 11.
