12 Broncos Receive All-MW Recognition

Mountain West Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.
– The Mountain West Indoor Track and Field All-Conference team was released by the league on Monday, and 12 Broncos earned all-conference honors in 12 events. David Elliott led the way with three All-MW honors, as he helped the distance medley relay team to second place, won the mile and concluded the meet by taking third in the 3,000m.

The all-conference team consists of the top three finishers in each event, including the top three teams in each relay event.

 After Elliott’s three All-MW nods, four different Broncos earned two honors apiece. Alexis Fuller won the 800m and also ran the 1,200m leg in the women’s DMR victory, Sadi Henderson took third in the 800m and ran the 800m leg in the women’s DMR, Minttu Hukka won the 5,000m and took third in the 3,000m and Brenna Peloquin took second in both the 5,000m and the 3,000m.

Alexandru Terpezan took third in the 200m and Dusty Fisher was also third in the 400m. The men’s DMR team of Andrew Rafla (1,200m), Fernando Martinez (400m), Elijah Armstrong (800m) and David Elliott (1,600m) took second after setting the school record with a time of 9:48.34.

The women’s DMR team of Fuller (1,200m), Chassity Love (400m), Henderson (800m) and Allie Ostrander (1,600m) took first after clocking a 11:16.41, which is a new school and MW Championship record along with the third-fastest time in MW history.

Ostrander and Elliott will compete at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships on March 11-12 in Birmingham, Ala.
