Cunningham, Four-Man Team in 20th

– Boise State alumnus Nick Cunningham and his four-man bobsled team are currently in 20th place after two heats of competition at the XXII Winter Olympic Games with a cumulative time of 1:39.10.

Cunningham (Boise State) along with teammates Hakeem Abdul-Saboor (Virginia-Wise), Chris Kinney (Georgetown) and Sam Michener (Idaho) clocked a 49.60 in the first heat and improved in the second with a 49.50.

The four are currently the second-fastest American sled in the field. Germany’s team of Candy Bauer, Francesco Friedrich, Martin Grothkopp and Thorsten Margis are in first with a cumulative time of 1:37.55.

The third heat will go off tomorrow (Feb. 24) at 5:30 p.m. MT. The fourth and final heat will follow shortly after.
