ZACHARIAS ARNOS NAMED WAC TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

            BOISE, Idaho Zacharias Arnos, a freshman member of the Boise State University track and field team, has been named the Western Athletic Conference’s Male Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

            Arnos won the triple jump at last Saturday’s (Feb. 10) Boise State Team Invitational, and in the process improved on his previous NCAA provisional qualifying mark.  Arnos’ winning jump was 51-0.00 (15.54m) which is the top mark in the WAC this season, and the 19th best collegiate mark. 

            Arnos also placed second in the long jump last week with a mark of 22-5.25 (6.84m).  His long jump ranks eighth in the WAC this indoor season.

            The Bronco track and field teams are off this weekend as they prepare for the WAC Indoor Championships, Feb. 23 and 24 (Friday and Saturday) at the Jacksons Indoor Track in Nampa.  The Bronco men are the defending team champions.
