BOISE, Idaho Paige Olivetti and Eleni Kafourou have been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes for the Week, respectively, for the week of Feb. 2-8. This marks the second consecutive week that Boise State has swept the weekly awards and raises the Broncos’ total number of women’s AOW awards this season to six.

Olivetti, a senior from Reno, Nev. (Wooster HS), placed first in three events at the United Heritage Invitational last weekend in Nampa. She won the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.87, which is currently the second best time in the WAC. She also won the 400m with a time of 56.31 (first in the WAC). Olivetti also helped the Bronco 4x400m relay team capture first-place with a time of 3:47.75.

Kafourou, a senior from Athens, Greece (9th Lykeium Pireas HS), was named field athlete of the week after breaking the Boise State long jump record last Saturday with an event winning mark of 21-1.25 (6.43m). The jump is a NCAA automatic qualifying mark and is currently the fourth-best mark in the nation. Kafourou broke a school record for the second consecutive week, as she also broke the Boise State triple jump record (43-5.00/13.23m) at the Bronco Invitational, Jan. 30-31. That jump is also ranked No. 4 in the nation.
