Broncos Host Boise State Team Challenge Feb. 10-11
► WHAT'S HAPPENING - The Boise State track and field teams host their final regular-season meet this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 10-11. The Boise State Team Challenge is the sixth straight meet the Broncos have hosted at the Jacksons Indoor Track and will be an exciting end to the regular season with big-name opponents coming.
Six Broncos will leave Boise for the weekend and head to Seattle, Wash., to compete in the FloTrack Husky Classic, Feb. 10-11.
The Jacksons Indoor Track will also host the 2012 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships which are slated for March 9-10, 2012.
► LOOKING AT THE TEAM CHALLENGE OPPONENTS - The Boise State Team Challenge welcomes a handful of nationally ranked teams (according to USTFCCCA), including Arizona's fifth-ranked men's team and 10th-ranked women's team. Arizona State's men rank No. 24 and women No. 21, while Boise State is the only other team with both men's and women's rankings, sitting at No. 70 and No. 118, respectively.
► TEAM CHALLENGE MEET SPECIFICS - The Boise State Team Challenge begins with the women's pentathlon on Friday (Feb. 10) afternoon at 2:30 p.m. The evening's final event is the pentathlon 800-meters, slated for 7:30 p.m. Saturday's events begin at 9:00 a.m. with the men's heptathlon 60-meter hurdles with the day's final event, the 4x400-meter relay, scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

► TEAM CHALLENGE TICKETS - Ticket prices for the 2012 regular season track meets are $5 for adults and $3 for seniors/students.
Tickets for the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 9-10, 2012 are also for sale during the regular season meets in the ticket box. Prices for all-session passes are: $50 for Adult Reserved; $45 for Adult General Admission; $37 for Senior/Student Reserved and $30 for Senior/Student General Admission.
Tickets can be purchased at the Idaho Center Ticket Box Office, at Treasure Valley TCBY's, Jack's Drive-in (Caldwell) and JNJ Corner Store (Ontario). They can also be purchased online at ncaa.com/tickets or ictickets.com and by phone at 208-442-3232.
► FLOTRACK HUSKY CLASSIC INFORMATION - Six Broncos will head to Seattle to compete in this year's Husky Classic. On Friday (Feb. 10) Emma Bates will participate in the women's 5000-meters starting at 6:30 p.m. (MT), while Scott Foley, Vince Hamilton and Jeff Howard will compete in the men's section. On Saturday (Feb. 11), Drew O'donoghue-McDonald will run the 1 Mile at 11:05 a.m. (MT), while Sawyer Bosch is slated to run the 3000-meters at 1:55 p.m. (MT).
Boise State's men sit at the No. 70 spot in the USTFCCCA weekly rankings with three Broncos ranking in four events. The women move to the No. 118 spot in the national team rankings this week. In the USTFCCCA rankings, Kurt Felix is ranked No. 13 in the heptathlon and No. 30 in the high jump, Eetu Viitala is ranked No. 14 in the long jump and Trevor Kraychir is ranked No. 18 in the weight throw. For the women Mele Vaisima ranks No. 26 in the weight throw this week.
In the Track and Field Results Reporting System (TFFRS) rankings three Broncos sit in the nation's top-50 in their respective events., Kraychir ranks No. 14 in the men's weight throw, while Vaisima ranks No. 22 in the women's weight throw. Kurt Felix enters the long jump top-50 rankings this week, sitting at No. 27.
► HONOR ROLL - Bronco senior Mele Vaisima has earned two Mountain West honors so far this season, being named the Mountain West Women's Athlete of the Week on Dec. 13, 2011 and Feb. 7, 2012 for her wins in the weight throw at the Jacksons Open and Bronco Classic. Kurt Felix also earned his first MW honor, being named the Mountain West Men's Athlete of the Week (Feb. 7) for wins in the high jump and long jump at the Bronco Classic.
► LAST TIME OUT - In their fifth meet of the season, the Bronco Classic, the Broncos picked up nine event titles in the one-day meet.
On the men's side, Kurt Felix led the way with wins in the long jump and high jump. Drew O'donoghue-McDonald won the Mile, Matthew Moyer won the 800-meters, Rolando Trammel picked up a win in the 60-meter hurdles and Will Lohman won the shot put.
► WINNING STREAKS - Mele Vaisima leads the team with five wins in as many meets in the weight throw. Manoah Wesson joins the undefeated group, running the 400-meters twice this season, winning both times. Will Lohman is the newest member of the group winning the shot put this weekend. He now has competed in the shot put in two meets, winning both times.
