Track & Field Hosts Bronco Classic Saturday

► MEET SPECIFICS - The Boise State track and field teams host the Bronco Classic on Sat., Feb. 2, their fifth of six regular season meets. The meet will be held at the Jacksons Indoor Track at the Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho.

► TICKETS AND PARKING - Pricing for the meet is as follows:
$5 - Adults
$3 - Students with ID / Kids 6-12 years / Seniors 60+
Kids 5 and under are free
*Parking is free  

► DIRECTIONS TO THE IDAHO CENTER - The Idaho Center sits on the north side of East Franklin Road, between Idaho Center Blvd. and Star Road, approximately one-half mile north of Interstate 84. If coming from I-84, take Exit 38 and go north approximately one-half mile to the light (E. Franklin Rd.). Go right at the light and continue approximately another one-half mile and turn left onto Equine Drive. Continue another one-quarter mile and the building will be on the right.

► THE COMPETITION - The Boise State men and women welcome NCAA Division I opponents Fresno State, Utah, Utah State and Utah Valley, as well as NCAA Division II opponents Cal State Los Angeles, Cal State Stanislaus and Northwest Nazarene. The College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon, NAIA affiliates, will join Treasure Valley Community College and additional club teams as participants in the meet.  

► UNDEFEATED - Four Broncos remain undefeated with multiple wins in their respective events. Will Lohman and Chase Sexton lead the way with three wins apiece in the weight throw and shot put, respectively. Daveon Collins has totaled two wins in the 200-meters this season, while Emma Bates has tallied two wins in the mile, both remaining undefeated in those events.

► IN THE RANKINGS - According to a handful of Broncos sit amongst the nation's top-50 in their respective events, including: Jordin Andrade (23rd, 400m); Emma Bates (24th, Mile); Karrie Butler (30th, 400m); Daveon Collins (35th, 200m); Will Lohman (37th, Shot put); Justin Malnes (49th, 60m hurdles); Heather Pilcher (50th, Long jump); Chase Sexton (27th, Shot put); Rolando Trammel (31st, 60m hurdles); and two of the men's 4x400-meter relay team combinations hold the 26th and 33rd-best times in the country.

Additionally, numerous Broncos sit amongst the Mountain West's top-three in their respective events, including: Jordin Andrade (1st, 400m); Aaron Back (2nd, 3000m); Emma Bates (1st, Mile); Karrie Butler (2nd, 400m); Taryn Campos (3rd, 200m); Daveon Collins (1st, 200m); Mackenzie Flannigan (3rd, 400m); Will Lohman (3rd, Shot put); Justin Malnes (2nd, 60m hurdles); Heather Pilcher (2nd, Long Jump); Andy Robertson (3rd, 800m); Chase Sexton (2nd, Shot put); Rolando Trammel (1st, 60m hurdles and 3rd, heptathlon); Barak Watson (1st, 3000m); Manoah Wesson (2nd, 200m and 3rd, 400m), the men's 4x400m relay (1st) and women's 4x400m relay (2nd), the men's distance medley relay (1st) and women's distance medley relay (2nd).

► HONORS CANDIDATES - Jordin Andrade and Emma Bates collected the first MW Athlete of the Week honors for the 2012-13 indoor track and field season. The pair earned the honors on Dec. 11, 2012

► INDOOR SCHEDULE - Boise State has two regular-season meet remaining at the Jacksons Indoor Track. This week the Broncos compete in the Bronco Classic (Feb. 2) and will close out the regular-season with the Boise State Team Challenge (Feb. 8-9). Boise State travels to the Husky Invitational (Feb. 9) and the UW Last Chance Qualifier (March 2) and will play host the 2013 Mountain West Indoor Championships Feb. 21-23.
