Kraychir Named WAC Field Athlete of the Week

DENVER -Boise State's Trevor Kraychir was named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 10-16.

Kraychir, a junior from Twentynine Palms, Calif. (Twentynine Palms HS), recorded a career-best toss in the weight throw at the Blue and Orange Opener on Jan. 15 (Nampa, ID). Kraychir's hurl of 65 feet, 7.75 inches easily netted him a first-place finish as he won by a margin of 8 feet, 6.75 inches. The throw was an improvement of 8.5 inches from Kraychir's previous career best.

Utah State's Armahd Lewis, a senior from Stockton, Calif. (Sacramento City College), won the WAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week after a career-best day  at the Snake River Open (Pocatello, Idaho; Jan. 15). Lewis claimed the 60-meter dash title after running a career and WAC-leading time of 6.80-seconds.
