July 6, 2014

EUGENE, Ore. - The final day of the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships concluded Sunday afternoon at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., with Allison Jeffries tying for tenth place in the pole vault. Jeffries cleared 12-5.5 (3.80m).
With the opening height set at 12-5.5, Jeffries missed on her first two attempts before she cleared the bar on her third and last attempt of the opening series.
The bar was moved to 12-11.5 (3.95m) for the second series, and the freshman from Eagle, Idaho, was unable to vault above the mark and advance to the next series. Desiree Freier from Texas Pole Vault won the title with a 14-1.25 (4.30m).
In just one year pole vaulting for the Broncos, Jeffries already has the indoor and outdoor school records. In the indoor and outdoor seasons combined, Jeffries won pole vault titles at seven different events, including four-consecutive victories during a stretch in the outdoor season.
