Throwers Collect PRs on Day One of Border Clash

Border Clash Day One 

BOISE, Idaho-Boise State's field squad kicked off the first day of competition at the Border Clash. The Broncos collected four personal bests on day one, including three top-five finishes.

The Bronco women came out strong in the hammer throw. Karyna Armstrong led the way with her personal-best toss of 59.11m (193-11) for a third-place finish. Britlie Silvester came in at sixth, marking a 53.83m (176-7) for her personal best. Courtney Hutchinson also threw a personal record with a distance of 48.11m (157-10).

Juston Lindsley improved his personal best in the discus, tossing a 172-9 and went on to finish second overall. Lindsley also competed in the hammer, placing fourth with a throw of 49.40m (162-1).

In the men's pole vault, Camden Stoddard recorded a new personal record with a clearance of 4.70m (15-05).

Lacie Rasley tossed a mark of 38.02m (124-09) in the women's discus competition.

The second and final day of competition will begin tomorrow, May 2 with the women's javelin at 10 a.m. Running events start at 10:15 a.m. with the mix masters 800m.
