BOISE, Idaho - Allie Ostrander smashed the women's 5,000m Dona Larsen Park facility record with a 16:09.27 to win the event Saturday morning at the Border Clash, virtually assuring herself of a spot at the NCAA West Regional Championships in the 5K. The Broncos amassed 12 event victories on day two of the team's only home outdoor meet of the season.

With pacers Clare O'Brien and Megan Lacy leading the way, Ostrander was able to trust her teammates and follow along for the first three kilometers. The redshirt freshman ran the last two kilometers solo and was able to cross the finish line under the target time of 16:10.

"It was really cool to compete in front of the people that support us," Ostrander said after her race, commenting on the turnout of Boise State fans on Saturday. "We don't have a lot of home outdoor meets, so our fans follow us from afar. It's awesome for them to get the chance to see us race and for us to show how much we appreciate their support."

Boise State swept the shot put titles with Courtney Hutchinson recording an incredible mark of 50-8 (15.44m), putting her as the No. 2 outdoor shot putter in school history. Drew Lindsley continued his red hot streak and won on the men's side thanks to a career-best 48-3.25 (14.71m).

Alexis Fuller was able to win the women's 800m in 2:07.78, making her the third-fastest Bronco in school history in the event. Amy Pfaff (2:10.71) and Ali Deitsch (2:15.15) were able to both run career-best times in taking second and third, respectively.

The 1,500m was also a prosperous event for both the Bronco men and women, as Anna McDonald (4:33.62) and Andrew Rafla (3:47.28) won in the women's and men's races, respectively. Kyra Lopez (4:38.87) was runner-up on the women's side, as was Addison Dehaven (3:51.69) for the men.

Allison Jeffries ended her last home meet as a Bronco appropriately by winning the women's pole vault after clearing 13-3.75 (4.06m). Amber Mallet (10-11.75 / 3.35m) and Ashley Caffrey (10-11.75 / 3.35m) both enjoyed personal-best vaults and took second and third, respectively.

The men's sprinters were sensational yet again with Alexandru Terpezan (21.36) winning the 200m, Dusty Fisher (46.84) capturing the 400m and Fernando Martinez (52.39) easily finishing in first in the 400m hurdles. Fisher's time also should qualify him to the NCAA West Region Preliminary Championships.

Both 4x400m relay teams crossed the finish line in first with the men clocking a 3:12.55 and the women posting a 3:48.93.

Other field event highlights included Camden Stoddard (15-11.75 / 4.87m) taking second in the pole vault and both Emily Stiles and Jared Budzinski throwing the javelin for career-best marks. Stiles (137-9 / 42m) took second in the women's competition and Budzinski (174-9 / 53.26m) did well to take fourth for the men.

Boise State will likely send a small contingent of athletes next weekend to compete at the Payton Jordan Invitational (May 5) in Stanford, Calif., and the Oregon Twilight (May 5) in Eugene, Ore.
